Lucknow — The Lucknow Police Commissionerate has arrested one Vishnu Kumar Rathore in connection with the alleged abetment of suicide of a young man named Abhimanyu Lodhi.
As per the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, Janaki Devi (resident of Vegetable Market, near Sulabh Toilet, Yavecha Bazaar, Jalimnath, Post Edgar, Lucknow), her son Abhimanyu was married to a woman named Aarti according to Hindu customs a few years ago. She had received ₹20,000 from the family during the wedding. However, two years ago, Aarti left their home and subsequently began demanding ₹5,00,000 from Abhimanyu’s family.
Janaki Devi stated that her son was under immense mental pressure due to repeated threatening messages and harassment by Aarti and her associates, especially Vishnu Kumar Rathore. These messages warned him that they would trap him in false legal cases. Unable to bear the stress, Abhimanyu allegedly took his own life on April 12, 2025, around 1:30 PM. A case was registered under FIR number 1118/2025 under the relevant sections of the IPC.
Police have now arrested Vishnu Kumar Rathore, son of Ram Shri Radheer, resident of Lucknow. The accused is around 41 years old. During the search, police recovered one mobile phone and other materials from his possession, which are believed to contain evidence related to the case.
