Bareilly: A captivating Bharatanatyam presentation titled ‘Krishna Leela’ was staged at SRMS Riddhima on Sunday evening, bringing the divine stories and enchanting episodes from the life of Lord Krishna alive through classical dance.
The performance featured Bharatanatyam guru Tanaya Bhattacharya and her students, who presented various facets of Lord Krishna’s life through expressive movements, intricate footwork and graceful choreography.
The programme began with students Adya Grover, Avantika, Ambika Sharma, Anika Tandon, Chiranya Gautam, Naysa Arora, Pragvi Agrawal, Shambhavi, Vanya Saxena, Mehr, Bhavya Bindal, Sanskriti Chaudhary, Savya Vaish and Anurati Saxena, who presented a dance rendition of the devotional song ‘Gopala Radhe Lola’.
The students subsequently performed to ‘Madhur Murti’, ‘Shri Krishna Govinda’, ‘Swagatam Krishna’ and ‘Woh Krishna Hai’, portraying different moods and episodes associated with Lord Krishna through Bharatanatyam. Their expressive performances and synchronised movements received warm appreciation from the audience.
The artistes also showcased their talent through a live Bharatanatyam fusion performance, blending classical dance with contemporary musical arrangements and further captivating the audience.
Bharatanatyam guru Tanaya Bhattacharya joined her students on stage to encourage them and presented an evocative performance on ‘Krishna Shabdam’, drawing appreciation from the gathering.
The Bharatanatyam presentation was accompanied by live instrumental music, with Suryakant Choudhary on violin, Amar Nath on tabla, Derrick Aman James on keyboard, Vishesh Singh on guitar and Anugrah Singh on drums providing musical support to the dancers.
The programme was conducted by Aruna Gangwar.
Among those present on the occasion were SRMS Trust Founder and Chairman Dev Murti, Asha Murti, Aditya Murti, Richa Murti, Devisha Murti, Usha Gupta, Subhash Mehra, Dr M.S. Butola, Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Dr Anuj Kumar and Dr Shailesh Saxena, along with several prominent citizens of Bareilly.
The evening offered the audience a vibrant celebration of Indian classical dance and devotional storytelling, with the young performers winning appreciation for their dedication, expressions and artistic talent.
