BJP to Spread Baba Saheb’s Ideals and Party Policies Through “Constitution Gaurav Abhiyan”

Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to launch the “Constitution Gaurav Abhiyan” (Constitution Pride Campaign) from January 11 to 25, marking 75 years since the adoption of the Indian Constitution. The campaign, aimed at spreading the ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the party’s commitment to the Constitution, was discussed in a meeting held at the BJP’s Kaiserbagh office in Lucknow. Present at the meeting were BJP’s state vice-president and Lucknow in-charge, Tryambak Tripathi, city president Anand Dwivedi, Rajya Sabha MP Brijlal, and Member of Legislative Council Mukesh Sharma.

Campaign Structure and Objectives

Tripathi shared details about the campaign, highlighting that teams at district and mandal levels have been formed to coordinate various activities. As part of the campaign, there will be district-level and mandal-level meetings from January 8 to 10, where the focus will be on honoring Baba Saheb’s legacy and promoting the party’s vision for the Constitution.

The key activities under the campaign include:

  • January 12-15: “Hamare Samvidhan – Hamara Swabhimaan” (Our Constitution – Our Pride) sessions organized by the Scheduled Castes (SC) Front at the city level, with speeches by central ministers and senior officials.
  • Essay and quiz competitions will be held in educational institutions to encourage youth engagement with the Constitution.
  • January 18-25: The Youth Wing (Yuva Morcha) will connect with SC students in hostels and colleges, educating them about Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions and the BJP’s unwavering commitment to the Constitution. Additionally, rallies and public meetings will be organized in SC-dominated areas.
  • January 25: The campaign will conclude with discussions at all booths across the state, focusing on the preamble and directive principles of the Indian Constitution.

Brijlal Criticizes Congress for Disrespecting Dr. Ambedkar

Addressing the meeting, Rajya Sabha MP Brijlal emphasized the importance of spreading the core values of the Indian Constitution to every citizen. He accused the Congress party of consistently disrespecting Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy over the last 75 years. He highlighted that it was due to the Congress’ mindset that Dr. Ambedkar was denied the Bharat Ratna for decades, and his portrait was not placed in the Central Hall of the old Parliament. The Emergency and the politics of social division pursued by Congress were cited as examples of how the party demeaned Dr. Ambedkar and his contributions.

Brijlal praised the BJP for always honoring Dr. Ambedkar and his legacy, especially after his posthumous recognition with the Bharat Ratna. He also pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated Constitution Day on the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar, marking a significant moment in the nation’s history.

Anand Dwivedi Highlights Baba Saheb’s Nationalist Legacy

City President Anand Dwivedi added that Dr. Ambedkar was a true nationalist who defined the soul of the Indian Constitution. He underscored Baba Saheb’s role in protecting the nation from Congress’ divisive agenda. Dwivedi referred to Dr. Ambedkar’s strong opposition to Article 370 and criticized Jawaharlal Nehru for disregarding his views and imposing the article on the country.

Engaging the Public Through Education and Rallies

BJP’s media in-charge, Praveen Garg, mentioned that several prominent party officials and campaign coordinators from various constituencies were present at the meeting, including Anjani Srivastava, Rajneesh Gupta, Mansingh, and Ram Avtar Kanaujia.

The “Constitution Gaurav Abhiyan” aims to honor Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions while educating citizens about the importance of the Indian Constitution and its role in shaping modern India. The campaign will play a pivotal role in strengthening the party’s connection with the masses and promoting its vision for a prosperous, inclusive India.
