Bareilly – In a captivating display of devotion and cultural heritage, renowned Bharatnatyam and Kathak gurus dedicated their performances to the Goddess through elaborate floral tributes at Shri Ram Murti Memorial (SRMS) Riddhima. The event left the audience mesmerized, as the gurus showcased intricate dance sequences that paid homage to India’s ancient traditions.
The program began with Kathak Guru Anshu Sharma offering reverence to Shakti Shiva through a powerful performance of Durgastuti set in Rudratal. Following this, Bharatnatyam Guru Robin A captivated the audience with a piece on Ashtalakshmi, while Kathak Guru Riashree Chatterjee presented a soulful rendition of Durgastuti in 5.5 matra. Another remarkable act was Kathak Guru Debajyoti Naskar’s portrayal of the disrobing of Draupadi in Neel Taal, Gatabhav, a heart-wrenching scene from the Mahabharata.
Bharatnatyam Guru Tanay Bhattacharya performed with grace on the Rajarajeshwari track, concluding with Mangalam, evoking a sense of divinity. One of the highlights of the evening was a jugalbandi, a collaboration between Bharatnatyam and Kathak, where both dance forms were woven together, surprising and enthralling the audience.
Singing Guru Sneh Ashish Dubey lent his powerful voice to Pushpanjali, further enriching the tribute. Esteemed musicians including Umesh Mishra (Sarangi), Suryakant Chaudhary (Violin), Amarnath (Tabla), Suman Biswas (Mridangam), Suraj Pandey (Flute), Tukmani Sen (Harmonium), and Anugrah Singh (Keyboard) provided a mesmerizing musical backdrop, enhancing the spiritual essence of the evening.
The event was graced by SRMS Trust Founder and Chairman Dev Murti, along with Asha Murti, Richa Murti, Usha Gupta, Dr. Rajni Agarwal, Dr. MS Butola, Dr. Anuj Kumar, Dr. Rita Sharma, and other dignitaries from the city.
