Participation of Kashmiri youth in every field of theatre, acting and script writing

Srinagar: Books are friends of everyone – artists, filmmakers, actors, singers. This is the reason that as the Chinar Book Festival is climbing the ladder of success, a crowd of famous actors, filmmakers, singers from all over the country is gathering here.

On the sixth day, Bollywood actors Ashwath Bhatt, Mir Sarwar and Hussain Khan participated in a session organized on the future of Kashmiri youth in the field of theatre, acting and script writing.

Ashwath Bhatt gave a message to the youth of Kashmir and said, “Just like a swimmer has to get into the river water to learn swimming, similarly the youth of Kashmir also need to dive into the film world. There is a lot of scope for the youth in the industry.” Mir Sarwar, who has traveled from Kashmir to Bollywood, inspired children and youth to read books and said, “If you read 10 books, you will know about the lives of 10 people. You will learn from their mistakes and their success stories will inspire you to move forward.”

Hussain Khan urged the youth to visit the Chinar Book Festival again and again and said, ”The industry I come from has its roots in books. Seeing the crowd of youth at every stall here, one can guess how much the youth of Kashmir love books.” Talking about the future of youth in the film industry, Mir Sarwar said that the history, art, heritage of Kashmir is very rich. The youth should bring this heritage of the valley to the world through films.

In memory of the writers of Kashmir

On the sixth day of Chinar Talks, those poets and writers were remembered who enriched Kashmiri literature and provided a platform to the youth to take this tradition forward. Sahitya Akademi Award winner Dr. Ashraf Zia called Kashmir’s literature a heritage and remembered the literary ideology of Laleshwari, Abhinav Gupta, Anand Vardhan etc. He said that the biggest specialty of a Sufi is to eliminate the self. Everyone is taken along in this.

Kashmir’s famous writer Mushtaq Bashir Barq explained to the youth the difference between Sufi poets and common poets and said, “Today’s youth listen to Kashmiri literature, listen to Sufis, because of them our future is safe. We have 147 Sufi poets on whom the youth can work.”

Children learned various arts

Children are not only buying colorful books by coming to the Chinar Book Festival, but also the eagerness to learn something new can be clearly seen in their minds. On Thursday, children were taught to make various things from paper in the Children’s Corner. After this, Muskan Gupta from the postroom also taught the children how to write letters.

Colors of Rajasthani folk songs in Kashmir

At present, a confluence of Indian folk songs, culture and folk dance is being seen in Srinagar’s SKICC. On Thursday, a gathering of Rajasthani folk songs was held here. The voice of famous Rajasthani lyricist Kutla Khan won the hearts of the youth. The youth danced a lot on his songs. In the evening, Shadaj Band of Lucknow performed at SKICC. This was a different experience for the youth of Kashmir.

Photo exhibition on the first National Space Day

India became the fourth country to land on the Moon on August 23, 2023 and the first country to land on its South Pole region. Giving this success of India the form of a celebration, National Space Day is being celebrated on August 23 across the country. To make children and youth aware of India’s space development journey, Indian Space Research Council (ISRO) has organized a photo exhibition at the Chinar Book Festival, in which pictures of Indian satellite development, satellites in the field of Indian communication, PSLV, GSLV, India’s regional navigation system NavIC, PS4 orbital platform, small satellite segment, LVM-3, ISRO’s missions from 1998 to 2023, Aditya L1, Chandrayaan-3 mission, Gaganyaan, high-throughput satellite HTS, Indian Mission Control Center, Satcom application, quantum communication etc. have been displayed with information. Children and youth will be able to know well about India’s space development journey through this photo exhibition on August 23. A model of a spacecraft has also been installed here.

Chinar Talks is also going to be special for the youth on Friday. Here they will be able to talk to famous Bollywood director and music composer Vishal Bhardwaj about the film world. They will have the opportunity to learn about their experiences as a writer from Srinagar Deputy Commissioner Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat and Kashmir Health Director Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Jammu and Kashmir Police Telecom Director Manoj Pandit and cardiologist Dr Suresh Kole. Readers will be able to enjoy Mushaira from 3 pm to 4.30 pm in Mehfil-e-Chinar, in which well-known personalities of the country will participate.
