Lucknow Police Takes Swift Action, Nabs Accused Within Hours
Lucknow: Lucknow police have arrested eight accused and taken one minor into protective custody in connection with the attack on a bus conductor and the looting of his mobile phone. The incident took place on February 26, 2025, after an altercation stemming from a missed bus departure.
The Incident:
The primary accused, Shehzad Khan, had booked a ticket for a YOLO bus from Delhi to Lucknow on February 25. His pickup point was Akshardham Temple, where the bus waited for around 30 minutes. When Shehzad failed to arrive on time, the bus proceeded without him, which infuriated him. Seeking revenge, he conspired with his friends to attack the conductor.
On the night of February 26, Shehzad and his eight accomplices ambushed the bus near Baravirva Nahariya Crossing. They encircled the conductor, Ankit, and brutally assaulted him with a knife, leaving him severely injured. The group then looted his Redmi mobile phone before fleeing the scene.
Swift Police Response and Arrests:
Following the attack, the Lucknow Police Commissionerate promptly registered a case and formed five teams to investigate. Utilizing CCTV footage, call detail records (CDR), and ground intelligence, the police tracked down and arrested the eight accused near Malhour Station later that night. The minor was taken into protective custody.

- Mohammad Qadir (23), resident of Mulayam Nagar, Lucknow; native of Chamrauli, Faizabad.
- Fahad Khan (23), resident of Mulayam Nagar, Lucknow; native of Karaudi, Faizabad.
- Badal Singh (23), resident of Vastu Khand, Lucknow; native of Rustampur, Gorakhpur.
- Aviral Srivastava (19), resident of Vastu Khand, Lucknow; native of Udairajganj, Siddharthnagar.
- Mohammad Muaj (18), resident of Adarsh Bihar Colony, Lucknow; native of Kheta Sarai, Barabanki.
- Mohammad Adil (27), resident of Behlaunpurwa, Lucknow.
- Adil alias Sheebu (24), resident of Nizampur, Lucknow.
Minor in Custody: 16-year-old boy.
