Kanpur: A father’s reprimand turned into a nightmare when his minor son fled home with cash and jewelry worth crores. The incident took place in the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Nagar area of Panki, where a businessman’s son went missing along with valuables including gold, silver, and cash.
After extensive searching, neither the minor nor the stolen assets could be found, prompting the businessman to file a police complaint. Taking swift action, Kanpur police investigated the matter thoroughly. Eventually, the tenth-grade student was tracked down to a hotel, where he was apprehended along with two accomplices.
Police recovered ₹21 lakh in cash and approximately ₹80 lakh worth of jewelry from the minor and his associates. However, two of his accomplices remain at large. During interrogation, the minor revealed that he committed the act to teach his father a lesson. He claimed that his father frequently scolded him and restricted his actions. Furthermore, he was reportedly warned that he might be disowned from the family’s wealth, which fueled his decision to flee with the valuables.
Authorities continue their search for the remaining suspects while legal proceedings are underway against the detained individuals.
