UPSTF’s Major Success: Arms Smuggling Racket Busted in UP & NCR

Mathura: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UPSTF) has achieved a significant breakthrough in curbing illegal arms smuggling in the state. Acting on intelligence inputs, UPSTF arrested three members of an arms smuggling gang—Veerpal Yadav, Lakhan Singh, and Sachin—from Mathura.

A large cache of illegal weapons and ammunition was recovered from their possession, including two pistols, multiple revolvers, and a substantial number of live cartridges and empty shells.

According to initial investigations, the gang was actively involved in smuggling arms from Rajasthan and supplying them across Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region (NCR). The key supplier, identified as Bhanu, played a crucial role in procuring and distributing the weapons to gang members.

The STF has launched further investigations to trace other associates involved in the illegal arms trade and to dismantle the entire network. The arrest marks a crucial step in the ongoing crackdown against organized crime in Uttar Pradesh.
