Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Rajeev Krishna chaired a high-level online crime review meeting from Police Headquarters, directing senior police officers across the state to strengthen crime prevention, improve law and order, and ensure robust security arrangements during upcoming festivals.
Emphasising a proactive approach to policing, the DGP said, “Zero Tolerance is a State of Mind,” underlining that zero tolerance must become an integral part of the police force’s working culture.
Krishna directed officers to intensify patrolling to curb theft, chain snatching and other crimes. He also stressed the importance of effective public grievance hearings at police stations, courteous behaviour towards complainants and the timely, qualitative resolution of complaints.
With festivals approaching, the DGP called for a “Zero Casualty” approach to prevent loss of life due to drowning and electrocution. He instructed officers to strengthen preventive measures and ensure public safety at vulnerable locations.
Reviewing pending investigations, he directed police units to expedite cases pending for more than 60 and 90 days and ensure their disposal within stipulated timelines. Special emphasis was placed on solving blind cases, preventing repeat offences and improving the effectiveness of investigations.
The DGP also called for the prompt recovery of missing children and measures to improve traffic management across the state.
Appreciating the Uttar Pradesh Police’s training achievements, Krishna commended personnel for completing more than one crore courses on the iGOT learning platform. He emphasised the importance of continuous training and capacity-building to improve professional competence and policing standards.
The meeting focused on strengthening accountability, improving police responsiveness and ensuring effective crime control and public safety throughout Uttar Pradesh.
