Web of expressways to make commute smoother in Uttar Pradesh

New Delhi:  Uttar Pradesh is rapidly connecting the districts of the state through more than half a dozen expressways (e-ways). According to the spokesperson of the state government, in the last seven years after assuming power in the state, a long network of e-ways has been laid in UP under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Along with this, a large series of link e-ways and connectivity e-ways are also being established in the state, through which small districts are also being connected to big e-ways. This will not only make the journey comfortable, but will also reduce the delay in travel. Charging stations and public facilities centers will be developed

At present, apart from Ballia Link E-way (131 km), Chitrakoot Link E-way (15.20 km), Agra Lucknow E-way to Purvanchal E-way Link Expressway (61.60 km), Ganga Expressway to Agra Expressway via Farrukhabad Link Expressway (93 km), Yamuna Expressway to Ganga Expressway via Bulandshahr Link Expressway (84 km) are under construction or proposed in the state. While solar parks will be developed along these link e-ways, electric vehicle charging stations and public convenience centers will also be developed.

Initially the Link Expressway will be of 4 and 6 lanes

The Yogi government is weaving a network of expressways and link expressways for better connectivity in the state. Talking about the Ballia Link Expressway, it will cover the distance between Ghazipur and Ballia. For this, Rs 1600 crore has been given by NHAI. The Chitrakoot Link Expressway will initially be of 4 lanes and in future it will be made of 6 lanes. It will connect the Bundelkhand Expressway to Ahmedganj. The link expressway connecting the Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the Purvanchal Expressway will initially be of 6 lanes and in future it will be made of 8 lanes. The cost of this 61.60 km long link expressway will be around Rs 4500 crore.

Farrukhabad Link Expressway will be built with Rs 6500 crore

Similarly, the link expressway passing through Farrukhabad between Agra-Lucknow Expressway and the under-construction Ganga Expressway will also be 6 lanes in the beginning and in future it will be made 8 lanes. The estimated cost of this 93 km long link expressway has been estimated at Rs 6500 crore. Similarly, the length of Bundelkhand Link Expressway connecting the under-construction Ganga Expressway to Jewar Airport will also be 84 km, the construction of which will cost Rs 6 thousand crore.
