Mumbai: “We chose to shoot in the forests of Maredumilli, near Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh the same region where the forest sequences of Pushpa were filmed,” says Swayambhu director Bharat Krishnamachari
Be it the teaser or the first single Ra Ra Dheevara, every asset of Swayambhu has turned out to be a massive success. Offering a glimpse into the film’s grand and expansive world, each promotional asset has significantly heightened the audience’s excitement!
Ever since the release of its teaser, Swayambhu has rapidly become one of the most anticipated projects in Nikhil Siddhartha’s lineup following the success of Karthikeya 2. Showcasing grandeur, scale, and a compelling narrative backdrop, the teaser garnered widespread praise for its cinematic ambition. Amid the growing excitement surrounding the film, its powerful first single, Ra Ra Dheevara, went on to become a sensation.
Being a mega project, the film was shot in challenging terrains at real location within unexplored forest areas. While speaking about the same, director Bharat Krishnamachari said, “For the live-action portions, we chose to shoot in the forests of Maredumilli, near Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh the same region where the forest sequences of Pushpa were filmed. However, we made a conscious effort to explore untouched locations where no shooting had taken place before.”
He added, “Reaching these spots was an adventure in itself. We had to travel by jeeps for nearly 2 to 2.5 hours just to get to the mountain tops. During one such schedule, unexpected rains hit us, and a part of our crew ended up stranded on the mountain without basic supplies for almost a day or two.”

“Interestingly, ours was among the first shoots permitted in that pristine location.” He said.
Set during India’s glorious golden era, the teaser presented a narrative rich in heritage, courage, and cultural significance. At the heart of the story lies the powerful symbolism of the Sengol, hinting at a tale of legacy and honor. Nikhil Siddhartha appears in a fierce and commanding avatar, with the teaser packed with breathtaking visuals, intense drama, and action.
The film brings together an extraordinary lineup of top-tier technicians and creative forces from across the industry. Helmed by director Bharat Krishnamachari, the project features music by Ravi Basrur of KGF and Salaar fame, stunning visuals by Baahubali and RRR cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar, and editing by Baahubali’s Tammiraju, alongside several other celebrated talents. Spanning an impressive 170 days of filming, the project stands as one of the most ambitious productions in recent times.
Swayambhu has been produced by Bhuvan and Shreekar of Pixel Studios. Presented as an epic tribute to India’s rich history and timeless glory, the film is set for a worldwide release in Summer 2026.
