Key Highlights from the Speakers:

  • Dr. Karuna Pandey emphasized the significance of childhood, stating, “Childhood shapes the foundation of life. Today’s children face loneliness amid the technological era, which is eroding the essence of childhood. To instill values, we must enrich children’s literature and understand their psychology.”
  • Dr. R.P. Saraswat captivated the audience with his heartfelt poem: “Nani ke gaav chale bada maza aayega, Mama ke sang-sang ghoomenge khet mein, Bamba ki patri pe daudenge reet mein, Nange hi paav chale bada maza aayega.”
  • Dr. Mohammad Arshad Khan read his touching story “Mitti Ka Katora,” which resonated deeply with the listeners, evoking strong emotional responses.
  •  Dilip Sharma highlighted the symbiotic relationship between literature and art, saying, “An artist must build an imaginative realm, and for that, reading quality literature is essential.”
  •  Narendra Nirmal addressed the misconception that children do not read literature. “To inspire young readers, one must connect with them. Children’s literature is widely read today, but authors must delve into child psychology to craft meaningful stories.”
  •  Balram Agrawal reflected on the invisible yet impactful gifts parents pass on to their children. “To write for children, one must relive childhood. Children’s literature also teaches adults how to guide the young generation.”
  •  Devi Prasad Gaur drew parallels between literary pursuits and spiritual endeavors. “Today, children’s literature is often written about children, not for them. Literary criticism is a continuous process that brings forth treasures like poems and stories from the ocean of literature.”
  • Dr. Deepak Kohli pointed out the natural curiosity in children. “A child’s mind always asks, ‘Why’ and ‘How.’ We must answer these questions in their language, as these inquiries inspire the creation of children’s science literature.”
  •  Anil Kumar ‘Nilay’ remarked, “Be it literature or a litterateur, both have fulfilled their responsibilities across eras. Hindi has never been in crisis, nor will it ever be. We must remain optimistic.”

Director’s Address:
In his address, Director  Raj Bahadur highlighted the complexities of creating children’s literature. “Writing for children is a challenging task. A children’s author must reconnect with their own childhood to effectively craft stories. Only those who carry the spirit of childhood within can create exceptional children’s literature that nurtures good values and character while guiding young minds in the right direction.”
