Lucknow — William O’Connor, Deputy Counsellor for Education & Cultural Affairs, Public Diplomacy, and Suparna Mukherji, Advisor – Public Diplomacy Section, U.S. Embassy India, held a key meeting with the core group of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand (ACCI UP UK) at their office in Gomti Nagar. The purpose of the meeting was to explore avenues of collaboration between the U.S. Embassy and ACCI UP UK in the evolving business and commerce landscape of Lucknow.
O’Connor emphasized that the visit was part of the Embassy’s broader outreach initiative aimed at engaging with Tier 2 cities across India, moving beyond the conventional focus on metro areas, to promote stronger partnerships and cooperation.
Er. D.P. Singh, President of ACCI UP UK, delivered a detailed presentation showcasing the Chamber’s extensive programs and activities across multiple sectors. These included initiatives in Industrial Development, cutting-edge discussions on Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization, Sustainability and Environment, as well as efforts in Education, Health, Public Policy, and Governance.
The U.S. Embassy expressed a strong interest in partnering with ACCI UP UK on several fronts, offering support and potential collaboration on upcoming programs and initiatives.
The meeting was also attended by Manish Agarwal, Vice President; Ramesh Malhotra, Secretary; and Abhishek Mathur, Assistant Secretary.
This interaction marked a pivotal step toward reinforcing collaboration between the U.S. Embassy and ACCI UP UK, aiming to enhance business, educational, and cultural ties in Lucknow and beyond.
