Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police and Lucknow Traffic Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory and diversion plan in view of the Indian Premier League (IPL) match scheduled at BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium.
According to the advisory issued by the city police, special traffic arrangements will remain in force from 3:00 PM until the conclusion of the match to manage heavy vehicular movement around the stadium and adjoining areas.
The restrictions will apply to heavy vehicles, buses, commercial vehicles, and general traffic movement on several major routes including Shaheed Path, Sultanpur Road, Kanpur Road, Rae Bareli Road, and Ayodhya Road.
Major Traffic Diversions
Traffic coming from Kamta Tiraha on Ayodhya Road towards Shaheed Path and Sultanpur Road/Rae Bareli Road/Kanpur Road will be diverted through alternate city routes and Kisan Path.
Similarly, vehicles approaching from the Shaheed Path–Kanpur Road intersection will not be allowed to proceed towards Sultanpur Road, Rae Bareli Road, or Ayodhya Road through Shaheed Path during the restriction period.
Heavy and commercial vehicles from Gosainganj and Sultanpur Road heading towards Ahimamau will also be diverted via Vrindavan Yojana and Kisan Path routes.
Traffic authorities further stated that large vehicles coming from Utrethia Underpass and Cantt Road will not be permitted to access Shaheed Path towards Ahimamau or Kamta and will instead be redirected through alternate routes including Telibagh, Barabirwa, and Kisan Path.
Restrictions Near Ahimamau and Palassio Mall
Movement from Husadiya Underpass towards Ahimamau and Shaheed Path will remain restricted, while traffic from Ahimamau towards Plassio Mall will be completely prohibited during match hours.
Vehicles from Sultanpur Road heading towards Police Headquarters through HCL Tiraha and Plassio Tiraha will also face restrictions and will be diverted accordingly.

Police have additionally banned U-turns at Ahimamau crossing from 2:00 PM till the end of the match to ease congestion near the stadium.
Parking and Exit Arrangements
Special exit routes have been designated for vehicles parked in different parking zones around the stadium and Phoenix Palassio.
Vehicles parked at Plassio parking areas will be allowed to exit only through Gate No. 6 towards Water Tank Tiraha and HCL Tiraha after the match.
Similarly, vehicles parked in parking zones P-0 to P-10 around the stadium will follow specific exit corridors via Shaheed Path, Ahimamau, and Gomti Nagar routes.
Public Advisory
Traffic police have warned that heavy congestion is expected on Shaheed Path between 2:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Commuters travelling towards Kanpur, Amausi Airport, Barabirwa, and the Expressway have been advised to avoid Shaheed Path and use alternate routes wherever possible.
Authorities have clarified that emergency services including ambulances, school vehicles, fire services, and शव वाहन (hearse vehicles) will be allowed movement on restricted routes in case of medical or unavoidable emergencies.

The police also stated that restrictions on heavy vehicles and no-entry timings, usually implemented from 11:00 PM onwards, will remain effective until traffic normalises after the IPL match.
