Lucknow: The 15th National Field Indoor Archery Championship 2024 was held at Seth M.R. Jaipuria Goel Campus, where archers from across the country gathered to compete. The event saw a massive turnout, with around 1800 students from 24 states, highlighting the widespread enthusiasm and talent for archery in India.
The opening ceremony of the championship was graced by an array of distinguished guests, including Dr. Kavita Pathak, Director of Jaipuria Institute of Management; Angad Singh, Member of Legislative Assembly, Barabanki; Mahesh Agarwal, Chairman of Goel Institute of Management; Subhash Chandra Nair, Secretary, Field Archery Association of India; Ritika Nair, Joint Secretary, Field Archery Association of India; Ram Babu, President of Indoor Field Archery Association of Uttar Pradesh; Nidhi Jain, General Secretary, Indoor Field Archery Association of Uttar Pradesh; and Dr. Rina Pathak, Principal of Seth M.R. Jaipuria Goel Campus.
The second day of the event kicked off with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by Ganesh Vandana and captivating physical displays, including a pyramid formation and a PT display by the students of the school. A vibrant dance performance, reflecting the five elements of life, set the tone for the day. This was followed by a thrilling archery demonstration by young archers, showcasing their exceptional skills. In a special highlight, a rope skipping team from Varanasi wowed the audience with their energetic and flawless performance.
The day also featured inspirational speeches from various dignitaries. Subhash Chandra Nair spoke passionately about the importance of archery and expressed his gratitude to the Jaipuria Goel Campus for hosting such a grand event. Dr. Kavita Pathak emphasized the deep-rooted connection of archery with India’s ancient culture, linking it to the country’s rich heritage. Mahesh Agarwal delivered a motivational address, encouraging all participants to give their best performance. Angad Singh also shared his thoughts on the event, stressing the significance of discipline, perseverance, and dedication in archery.
