Lucknow DM Inspects Special Voter Registration Camps, Directs Door-to-Door Verification

BLOs found present at all inspected polling stations; special camps to be held again on October 24

Lucknow: District Magistrate and District Election Officer Vishakh G inspected special voter registration camps organised across Lucknow on Saturday under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 programme, aimed at ensuring that all eligible citizens are included in the electoral rolls.

The camps were organised at polling stations across the district in accordance with the Election Commission of India’s directions. The initiative focused on registering first-time voters, particularly young people, and other eligible citizens whose names are yet to be included in the electoral rolls. Similar camps will be held at all polling stations across Lucknow on October 24.

During the inspection, Vishakh G reviewed election-related work at polling stations in Lucknow East Assembly constituency (173). He visited booths 407, 408, 409, 410 and 411 at Modern Academy in Viram Khand, followed by booths 432 to 439 at St John Bosco College in Vivek Khand-3.

The District Election Officer reviewed the progress and arrangements at the camps and issued necessary instructions to the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and supervisors. All BLOs were found present at the inspected polling stations.

The officers were directed to begin door-to-door surveys from October 18 to verify the ASD (Absent, Shifted and Dead) list and ensure the accuracy of electoral records.

The DM also stressed the need for effective measures to enrol new voters, with particular emphasis on ensuring that eligible women are included in the electoral rolls. The exercise is intended to improve the accuracy and completeness of voter lists ahead of future elections..
