Lucknow: The inaugural edition of the Residents Cricket League (RCL) Season 1 concluded successfully after an exciting week of cricket, community engagement, and entertainment in Lucknow. Organized from May 31 to June 7, 2026, the tournament was held daily from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Courtitude Turf, Gomti Nagar.
The league was conceived with the objective of bringing together residents from various housing communities on a common platform that celebrated sportsmanship, social interaction, and community spirit. Teams representing residential societies including Shipra, Satluj, Greenwood, Saryu, Yamuna, Saraswati, Rohini, Rapti, Rohit Heights, and Vanasthali participated enthusiastically in the competition.
Beyond the thrill of cricket, the tournament served as a unique opportunity for residents from different neighborhoods to connect, collaborate, and build stronger social bonds. The event highlighted the role of sports in fostering cooperation, mutual respect, and harmony among community members.
Carrying the theme “Play for Passion | Stay for Connection,” the league successfully blended competitive cricket with meaningful community engagement. The slogan reflected the organizers’ vision of promoting not only athletic excellence but also lasting friendships and connections among residents.

A major attraction of the event was its open and inclusive nature. Entry for spectators was kept completely free, enabling residents, family members, and friends to attend in large numbers and cheer for their favorite teams. The enthusiastic support from the audience created a vibrant atmosphere throughout the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, a representative of Shanvek Events Private Limited, the organizing company, said that the Residents Cricket League was designed to encourage sports enthusiasts, residential welfare associations, and local citizens to come together in support of community sports initiatives. The representative emphasized that such events play an important role in promoting a healthy lifestyle while strengthening social cohesion within residential communities.
The successful completion of RCL Season 1 has set the stage for future editions of the tournament, with participants and spectators alike expressing enthusiasm for the continuation of this unique community-driven sporting initiative. Through cricket, entertainment, and shared experiences, the league demonstrated how sports can become a powerful catalyst for building stronger and more connected communities.
