Lucknow: On the fourth day of the Uttarakhand Mahotsav at Goma Ghat, a huge crowd gathered. All stalls were full, offering unique handicrafts not found locally. Shopkeepers were thrilled, and visitors were delighted.
Today, the festival welcomed Senior Divisional Manager Sanjay Kumar Singh and others from Life Insurance Corporation of India. They were honored by the General Secretary of Uttarakhand Maha Parishad. Diwan Singh Adhikari, Convener of Maha Parishad, thanked State Bank of India and others for their support.
140 artists from 11 teams are performing in Dance Uttarakhand Dance (Season-3). They are showcasing 150 songs from Kumaoni, Garhwali, and Jaunsari. The competition’s second round began today, with the migrant youth participating with enthusiasm.
In Naachega Bharat, 220 artists from 11 teams are showcasing 18 states’ cultures. They are performing on over 110 Bollywood songs. A prize of about Rs. 5 lakh is at stake. Puran Singh Jeena and Mahendra Singh Galakoti have contributed to organizing these events.
The evening programs were inaugurated by lighting the lamp. This was done by the office bearers and members of the Women’s Cell. The President of the Women’s Cell, Pushpa Vaishnav, led the ceremony.
Bal Mithai is selling well at the festival, thanks to Rajendra Singh Kanwal. It was first made in Almora. Now, it’s available in almost all of Uttarakhand. The process involves roasting khoya and adding white grains.
From 02 PM, Chholia Dance Group-Udhanchal Kala Kendra Almora performed. Jeevika Pandey won first place in the solo dance competition. Yamini Joshi came second. Kartik and Mishti, and Saina and Riya, won in the couple dance competition.
From 4 pm:-
Pandit Sheetal Prasad Mishra played tabla beautifully. Arunima Chaturvedi did a Bollywood hip-hop dance and got applause. Tanishka Srivastava performed Shiv Stuti, and Anshika Singh did Rajasthani Kalbelia.
Neelamshree, Rajshree, and Shruti did Ghoomar and Raas Krishna Stuti. Palak Shah and Ishanvi joined in. Akhilesh Nigam, Krishna, and Achal Shekhar did a mash-up song. Bhajan Gayan by Akhilesh Nigam and others was also performed.
Grace and Pace Studio’s team mesmerized everyone. Mrs. Jaya Tolani led Bharatnatyam performances by Bhaavya Tripathi and others. Tia Wadhwa and Ishimar Garg did semi-classical dance. Preeti Pandey and her team entertained with folk dance.
Four Jhoda teams from Mayapuri, Devi Bhoomi, Bahadurpur, and Neelmatha performed. They were praised for their folk dances. Four teams from Dance Group PGI-Vrindavan, Jupiter Academy, Jaya Dance Academy, and Nritya Dance Academy performed. They danced to Bollywood songs.
Four teams from Dance Uttarakhand Dance Season-3 performed. Ramlila Committee Telibagh and Veena Vardayani Dance and Musical Academy were among them. Cultural group, Gomti Nagar, and Naya Savera, Neelmatha, also performed. They all tried their best to move forward.
Artists from Ayodhya performed Farwari folk dance with the Culture Department’s support. Mata Prasad led the team. They showcased their folk art. Nayi Dishaye, Nainital, performed the same dance with the Culture Department’s support.
I received applause for introducing Uttarakhand’s folk songs and dances.
Tomorrow, 13.11.2024: From 02 pm:- Poetry recitation and solo dance for those over 05 years.
From 04 pm:- Chholiya dance of Uttarakhand, Karaoke singing competition, and Bhajan by Geeta Paliwal. Folk dance, Indiranagar’s presentation, and Pahadi Masap Main Pahadan will be performed. Jhumki, Folk Masap, Bollywood, and Kumaoni folk song will also be showcased.
Hey Kalratri Hey Kalyani and Awadhi folk song will be performed. Hey Mere India and Dance with Fun under Ganga Negi’s leadership will conclude the event.
From 06 pm:- Presentations of 4 teams of Jhora competition, Dance Uttarakhand Dance, and second round of season-3. A cultural program with the Culture Department’s support will be held. Kavi Sammelan by national level poets will conclude the event.
