Bareilly: An enchanting evening dedicated to Urdu poetry and literary expression unfolded at the auditorium of SRMS Riddhima on Thursday, June 25, as poets and poetry enthusiasts gathered for the much-awaited mushaira titled “Bazm-e-Sukhan.”
The event brought together renowned poets from different parts of Uttar Pradesh, who captivated the audience with their thought-provoking verses, emotional expressions, and poetic craftsmanship. The gathering celebrated the rich tradition of Urdu literature while providing a platform for contemporary voices in poetry.
The mushaira commenced with acclaimed poet Imran Saidpuri, who set the tone for the evening with his impactful verses that reflected personal experiences, social observations, and human emotions. His poetry received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Poet Surendra Naaz Badauni touched listeners with his reflective couplets exploring relationships, self-discovery, and the passage of time. His heartfelt presentation resonated deeply with poetry lovers present at the event.
Poetess Tasleem Bano from Aligarh enthralled the audience with her evocative verses on human relationships, emotional distances, and life’s complexities. Her graceful recitation earned widespread appreciation from attendees.
Another highlight of the evening was the performance of Sarwat Parvez Sahaswani from Badaun, whose poetry celebrated the themes of friendship, love, and intellectual awakening. His verses encouraged listeners to look beyond narrow perspectives and embrace a broader understanding of life and human connections.
Veteran poet Mirza Makhdoom Beg Barelvi presented philosophical poetry that reflected on life’s challenges, aspirations, and resilience. His thoughtful expressions drew repeated applause from the audience.

The literary gathering also featured noted poet Dr. Sanjeev Srivastava, who shared romantic and expressive couplets that explored the intensity of love and longing.
The proceedings were skillfully conducted by Fardeen Ahmad Khan, whose engaging narration and poetic interludes added charm to the evening. His own poetic rendition was warmly received and earned appreciation from the audience.
