Mumbai: Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar is set to be honored with the prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) annual ceremony. The 51-year-old cricket legend, who has played 664 international matches for India, holds the record for the most runs in both Test and ODI cricket.
A source from BCCI confirmed the news, stating, “Yes, he will be awarded the 2024 C.K. Nayudu ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.” Tendulkar, with a record of 200 Test matches and 463 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), has accumulated 18,426 runs in ODIs and 15,921 runs in Tests, the highest by any player. He has only played one international T20 match in his illustrious career.
Other cricket greats who have received this distinguished award include former coach Ravi Shastri and ex-wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer.

Sachin Tendulkar is the first cricketer to be honored with India’s highest civilian award, the ‘Bharat Ratna.’ In addition, he has received several other prestigious accolades including the Arjuna Award, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Padma Shri, Padma Vibhushan, and Maharashtra Bhushan. In 2012, he was also bestowed with the ‘Order of Australia’ award. The ICC and BCCI have also recognized his extraordinary contributions to the sport with multiple important awards.
