Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, has added another milestone to its growing international education initiatives, with B.Tech student Agamya Verma returning to India after successfully completing a one-year academic programme in Taiwan under a government scholarship.
The achievement reflects the success of the university’s Centre for Multilingual Studies, which offers training in four foreign languages—French, German, Spanish and Mandarin. The Mandarin programme is conducted under the guidance of Taiwanese language instructor Chiali Chen, who is based on the university campus and trains students in the language.
Agamya Verma, a student of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, was awarded the Taiwan Government Scholarship as part of the university’s international academic initiative launched in 2024. After completing a year of study in Taiwan, she returned to India and met Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh to express her gratitude for the opportunity and support extended by the university.
During the meeting, Agamya said her international academic journey was made possible through the encouragement of the university administration, her faculty members and, in particular, the guidance of the Vice-Chancellor. She described the experience as a significant milestone in her academic and personal development.
Congratulating the student, Prof. K.P. Singh encouraged her to continue pursuing academic excellence with dedication and perseverance. He urged her to build on her international exposure to shape a successful future.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor said Agamya’s accomplishment was a matter of pride for the entire university. He encouraged all students to pursue their goals with hard work, commitment and a positive outlook, adding that international academic exposure broadens knowledge while enhancing personality and global perspectives. He reiterated the university’s commitment to supporting students in achieving their educational aspirations and urged them to take advantage of similar global learning opportunities.
Several university officials also congratulated Agamya on her achievement, including Registrar Mahendra Singh, Dean of Student Welfare Prof. Vinay Rishiwal, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering Prof. Manish Rai, Dean Academics Prof. S.K. Pandey, and Controller of Examinations Dr. Anil Kumar Yadav. They extended their best wishes for her future and praised the university’s efforts to promote international academic exchange.
