Lucknow: As part of the ongoing Mission Shakti Phase 5 initiative, the Lucknow Police Commissionerate conducted a series of awareness programs aimed at educating girl students and women about their rights, safety, and the services available to them. These programs, organized at various schools and localities in Lucknow, aim to empower women and promote a sense of security, self-reliance, and equality.
One such awareness event took place at the Mothers Bless Public School, located in Thana Aliganj area. In this program, girl students were informed about their rights and educated on how to protect themselves. Women attendees were also briefed on their rights, personal safety, and the various support services available to them, such as helplines and legal protections. Ashi Gupta and other women officials from the Thana Aliganj area were present to provide guidance and support to the attendees.
Additionally, under Section 6.3 of Mission Shakti, a special outreach program was held at Napier Road, Lal Colony in the Tahseen Ganj area. Women Police Inspector Shivani Karma led the session, educating women on critical topics such as cyber security, safe online purchases, bank fraud prevention, and how to handle suspicious cyber activity. Participants were also informed about various emergency helplines, including Pink, Women Help Desk, and Helplines, to ensure they know where to seek help in times of need.
As part of the Nari Suraksha Urban Samman and Anti-Romeo initiatives under Mission Shakti, another session was organized in the Thana Sairpur area, where officials like Rekha and Ragini educated the children of Primary School Mubarakpur about helplines and cyber safety. The program also reached out to women and girls in the village of Mubarakpur, providing them with information about the Women Power Line 1090, UP 112, and the Chief Minister Helpline 1076. These helplines are crucial for providing police assistance and support in case of emergencies.

Continuing the outreach efforts, a special program was held at Siddharth Shiksha Niketan High School on 18th October 2024, where students were educated about emergency services such as 112, Power Line 1090, Childline 1095, and the Chief Minister’s Helpline 1076. The students also received valuable insights into cyber laws and safety.
Another session under the Mission Shakti Abhiyan took place at Thana Nigoha’s Jagdish Prasad Memorial Inter College in Aghiya. This event saw the participation of villagers and local authorities, where Maha Aarti was performed, and students were once again educated about their security and the services available through UP Police. Attendees were given detailed information about women’s welfare services, including Women Helpline 1090 and UP 112, along with Smart City Cameras and Field Police Patrolling to ensure women’s safety in public spaces.
Mission Shakti Phase 5 emphasizes women’s empowerment and awareness about their rights and legal protections. The UP Police, through these programs, aims to ensure that women across all strata of society are well-informed and equipped with the necessary resources to safeguard themselves. The initiative also seeks to promote respect, security, and equality for women, encouraging them to take advantage of self-employment opportunities and government schemes.
Through Mission Shakti, women are being made aware of their rights and empowered to utilize government schemes and police services for their protection, further contributing to their independence and self-reliance.
