Lucknow Police Holds Advanced Workshop on Cybercrime, Blockchain and Dark Web

Lucknow: In a major step towards strengthening cybercrime prevention and investigation, the Lucknow Police Commissionerate organised a one-day specialised training workshop on “Cyber Fraud, Blockchain, Cryptocurrency and the Dark Web” in Lucknow.

The workshop was held on May 4, 2026, at Vishvesvaraya Hall under the guidance of senior officers including Aparna Kumar (Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime and Headquarters), Bablu Kumar (Joint Commissioner of Police, Law and Order), and Amit Kumawat. The programme was coordinated under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police Saumya Pandey.

117 Personnel Receive Specialised Training

A total of 117 police personnel participated in the session, including cyber help desk in-charges, cyber cell staff, cyber police station teams, and sub-inspectors from the 2023 batch. The training was conducted by cyber experts Anuj Agrawal and Deep Diwakar.

Participants were trained on various forms of cybercrime such as cyberstalking, financial fraud, digital arrest scams, social engineering, and online fraud techniques. The workshop also covered emerging technologies like Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence, and the Dark Web.

Focus on Crypto Crime Investigation

A key highlight of the training was its focus on cryptocurrency-related crimes. Experts provided detailed guidance on tracking digital transactions, collecting electronic evidence, and conducting technical analysis to investigate such cases effectively.

Real-life case studies and practical scenarios were used to help officers understand the complexities of cyber investigations and improve their response strategies.

Strengthening Tech-Driven Policing

Officials said the primary objective of the workshop was to equip police personnel with the latest knowledge and tools to tackle the evolving nature of cyber threats. With online fraud and digital scams on the rise, enhancing technical capabilities has become crucial for effective policing.

The Lucknow Police Commissionerate stated that similar training programmes will continue in the future to ensure that law enforcement remains updated with rapidly changing technologies and can better protect citizens from cybercrime.

The initiative marks a significant step towards modernising policing and building a more robust cyber security framework in the state.
