KGMU Doctor Awarded Gold Medal for Excellence in DM Hepatology

Lucknow: King George’s Medical University (KGMU) has added another feather to its cap as Dr. Sudhir Verma of the university’s Hepatobiliary Unit, Department of Medicine, was awarded a Gold Medal for outstanding performance in the DM Hepatology examination.

Dr. Verma earned his DM Hepatology degree from the prestigious Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) and was recognized for his academic excellence during the institute’s 10th Convocation Ceremony held in New Delhi.

The gold medal was presented by Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh in recognition of Dr. Verma’s exceptional achievement in the specialty examination.

Congratulating Dr. Verma on the accomplishment, KGMU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sonia Nityanand and Head of the Department of Medicine and Dean Academics Prof. Virendra Atam extended their best wishes for his future endeavors. They stated that the achievement reflects the academic excellence of both KGMU and ILBS and would inspire young medical professionals to pursue excellence in research, education, and patient care.

Expressing gratitude after receiving the honor, Dr. Sudhir Verma credited the achievement to his mentor Prof. S. K. Sarin, as well as his parents, family members, and well-wishers. He said the recognition would motivate him to continue working towards excellence in patient care, medical education, and research in the field of liver and biliary diseases.

Faculty members, doctors, residents, and students of both KGMU and ILBS welcomed the achievement and congratulated Dr. Verma, describing the honor as a proud moment for the institutions and the medical community.
