FIH Hockey Men's Junior World Cup

Lausanne: The Executive Board of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has awarded the hosting rights of the next FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup to India. The tournament will be played in December 2025. This will be the first time that the Hockey Junior World Cup will feature 24 teams.

FIH President Tayyib Ikram said that giving a larger and more diverse number of national associations more opportunities to play is one of the key pillars of our empowerment and engagement strategy. We saw at the FIH Hockey 5s World Cup in Oman this year how greater diversity brings a huge added value to our events. Therefore, I am very pleased that we have increased the number of participating teams for the FIH Hockey Junior World Cup and I look forward to seeing these 24 young teams represent the future of our sport next year! At this stage, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Hockey India for their commitment to organising another great event!

Hockey India President Dr Dilip Tirkey said that we are delighted that FIH has chosen India to host the Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to FIH for entrusting us with the responsibility of this tournament. This prestigious tournament highlights India’s growing importance in international hockey and reflects our dedication to developing the sport for future generations.

Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh said that hosting the Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 is an important step for us, and we appreciate FIH’s trust in India. This event provides a great opportunity to take hockey even further. We are committed to making this tournament a memorable experience that will celebrate everything related to hockey. The last edition of the Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup was held in Malaysia in 2023 and was won by Germany.
