Yogi Government to Organise Two-Day Divya Deepawali Mela in Lucknow

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government will organise the Divya Deepawali Mela-2026 on November 5 and 6 at the Jawahar Bhawan-Indira Bhawan premises in Lucknow, aiming to promote the skills and entrepreneurship of persons with disabilities and connect their products with wider markets.

Organised by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, the two-day fair will showcase a range of products made by artisans and entrepreneurs with disabilities. These will include handicrafts, decorative items, Diwali products, household essentials and other handmade goods, offering participants an opportunity to reach consumers directly.

The fair will remain open from 11 am to 6 pm. Rajesh Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of the Backward Class Welfare and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, will attend as the chief guest.

The initiative reflects the state government’s effort to help persons with disabilities achieve financial independence through their skills and enterprise rather than remain solely dependent on welfare schemes. The department has appealed to citizens, government officials, institutions and voluntary organisations to visit the fair and purchase products made by participating artisans.

Beyond promoting sales, the event seeks to strengthen livelihood opportunities, build confidence and recognise the creativity and self-reliance of persons with disabilities.
