Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh-Australia Agri Business Conclave was organized at Hotel Taj in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. This conclave was organized with the aim of strengthening technical cooperation in the agricultural sector and agricultural production, productivity, and trade relations between the two countries.
Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Labor and Employment Minister Anil Rajbhar, Minister of State for Horticulture, Agriculture Foreign Trade (Independent Charge) Dinesh Pratap Singh, and Minister of State for Agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh participated in the conclave.
Australian High Commissioner to India Dr. Philip Green, Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Manoj Kumar Singh and Agriculture Production Commissioner Monica Garg were also present on this occasion.
Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said in his statement that the Uttar Pradesh government has simplified the food processing policy, so that the farmers and entrepreneurs of the state can take maximum benefit. Establishment of more processing units in the state will increase the value of agricultural produce, which will improve the income of farmers. We consider it a golden opportunity to work with Australia in various fields of agriculture.
Labor and Employment Minister Anil Rajbhar said that the objective of the Uttar Pradesh government is to increase employment opportunities in the agriculture sector and this conclave is an important step in that direction. Through the technologies and expertise coming from Australia, we can create new employment opportunities in agriculture and related industries.
Minister of State for Horticulture and Foreign Trade (Independent Charge) Dinesh Pratap Singh said that our goal is to increase the agricultural export of Uttar Pradesh and our farmers get more opportunities in global markets. With cooperation with Australia, we can achieve this goal faster. Minister of State for Agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh said in his statement that promoting technical use in agriculture is the need of the hour. The technologies and ideas being discussed in this conclave will not only help in increasing production but will also strengthen the economic condition of the farmers.
Australia’s High Commissioner to India Dr. Philip Green said on this occasion that there is immense potential in the agriculture sector in Uttar Pradesh and Australian companies are excited to expand these possibilities. Australia can become a good partner in strengthening the agriculture and food processing sector here. We look forward to working with the Uttar Pradesh government in this direction.
In the conclave, experts from Australia gave presentations on the latest technologies in agriculture, effects of climate change, and measures to increase production. The problems of climate change common between the two countries were also discussed, in which it emerged that both countries should learn from each other’s experiences and techniques to face these challenges.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh said that this conclave is an important initiative to further strengthen the agriculture sector of Uttar Pradesh. We are committed to adopting technological innovation and advanced methods in agriculture in collaboration with Australia.
Agriculture Production Commissioner Monica Garg shared her views and said that the use of technology is essential to increase the productivity and income of our farmers. The ideas and techniques that have emerged in this conclave will definitely benefit the agriculture sector of the state.
Additional Chief Secretary Horticulture B L Meena and Principal Secretary Agriculture Ravindra Kumar also attended the program and discussed in detail the various agricultural schemes of the state and their implementation. He said that through this conclave, there has been deep brainstorming on doubling the income of farmers and promoting the use of technology in agriculture, due to which the agriculture sector of the state would reach new heights in the coming times.
