Mumbai: Prateik Chaudhary, who has gained recognition through shows like Paramavatar Shri Krishna, Sindoor Ki Keemat, and Tose Naina Milaike, says his objective is clear when it comes to doing selective roles. He wants to create an impact by being part of strong narratives.
He said, “I don’t focus too much on the fear of being typecast. For me, it’s more about whether the role is a strong protagonist, if the content is meaningful and clean, and if I’m working with a good team. Once those boxes are checked, I leave the rest to faith and just go with the flow.”
And even when he consciously didn’t try to break the pattern, luck favored him. He said, “During my time working on Sindoor Ki Keemat and Tose Naina Milaike, both shows ran for around 500 episodes each—so almost 1000 episodes combined. At a certain point, things did start to feel a bit monotonous for me. But fortunately, right after Tose Naina Milaike, I got the opportunity to do a film (Band Baaja Murder). Without consciously trying to break the pattern, it just happened naturally, and that allowed me to explore something different.”
As an actor, Prateik enjoys challenging himself and playing characters he has never explored before. He said, “It helps me understand my own potential and grow with every project. For me, it’s not really about taking risks; it’s more about staying true to what I’m comfortable with. If I connect with the character and the scenes feel right, I’m happy to go ahead and give it my all.”

He believes in keeping things simple and giving his 100% to every project. He added, “I try to be a good human being and stay grounded through prayer. I don’t overthink reinvention; I believe if you’re honest with your work, growth happens naturally.”
And he doesn’t shy away from refusing projects that don’t align with his thoughts. He said, “I was not worried about being typecast, but it was mainly because I wasn’t comfortable with certain characters or scenes.” For me, comfort and conviction in what I’m doing are very important.”
He is grateful that so far he has been able to do roles that balanced the audience’s expectations with his desire to explore diverse and unconventional roles. “I believe the universe and God have been very kind in guiding me toward roles that audiences can genuinely connect with. The love and respect I receive from them mean everything to me. At the same time, I trust that as long as I stay honest to my choices, I’ll continue to find a balance between what the audience enjoys and what excites me as an actor,” Prateik ended.
