Divisional Commissioner Reviews Development Programmes, Directs 100% Tree Plantation and Faster Implementation of Welfare Schemes

Bareilly: A divisional review meeting chaired by Bhupendra S. Chaudhary was held at the Development Bhawan auditorium on Monday to assess the progress of key government schemes and administrative initiatives across the Bareilly division.

The meeting focused on a wide range of development, health, education, agriculture, disaster management, and welfare-related programmes being implemented in the districts of the division.

Focus on Mega Tree Plantation Drive

Reviewing preparations for the statewide plantation campaign scheduled to begin on July 12, the Divisional Commissioner directed all departments to achieve 100 percent plantation targets. He instructed district authorities to ensure complete lifting and availability of saplings and asked departments that have not yet identified land for plantation to do so without delay.

He emphasized that only high-quality saplings should be planted and that all plantation activities must be geo-tagged in accordance with government guidelines to ensure transparency and monitoring.

Farmer Registry and Family ID Work to Be Accelerated

The Commissioner reviewed the progress of the Farmer Registry and Family ID programmes and expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of implementation in certain areas. Officials were directed to expedite the process and improve performance at the earliest.

Monitoring of Healthcare Services

Taking stock of healthcare services, the Commissioner instructed officials to conduct field inspections to ensure that doctors are attending hospitals and health centres during prescribed duty hours.

Referring to directions issued during a recent review by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he stressed that priority must be given to issuing Ayushman Golden Cards to citizens above the age of 70 and that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.

Concern Over Nutrition Kit Distribution

The Commissioner noted that the division was lagging in the distribution of nutrition kits and directed Chief Medical Officers to improve performance immediately.

He also instructed all Chief Development Officers to inspect hospitals in their respective districts and ensure that adequate fire safety arrangements are in place.

Strengthening Immunisation and Disease Control Measures

The meeting reviewed the status of routine immunisation, with underperforming districts being directed to improve coverage.

While assessing the Communicable Disease Control Campaign and Dastak Campaign, the Commissioner instructed authorities to intensify fogging and sanitation drives in villages reporting higher numbers of dengue and malaria cases. He also directed ASHA workers to ensure complete village coverage and upload field data on the e-Kavach portal.

To increase public awareness, instructions were issued to organize health camps at tehsil and block levels and encourage wider participation in disease-control initiatives.

Addressing Stray Cattle Issues in Pilibhit

The Commissioner referred to concerns raised during the Chief Minister’s review meeting regarding the increasing number of stray cattle in Pilibhit. District officials informed the meeting that construction of additional cow shelters is underway and that stray cattle would soon be accommodated in these facilities.

Push for School Enrolment and Textbook Distribution

Reviewing the School Chalo Abhiyan, the Commissioner instructed Basic Education Officers to intensify awareness campaigns in districts where student enrolment remains below expectations. He also directed that enrolment data be regularly uploaded to the designated portal and that textbooks be distributed to all students without delay.

Flood Preparedness Measures Reviewed

With the monsoon season approaching, the Commissioner directed all district administrations to ensure adequate flood preparedness. Officials were instructed to remain vigilant, monitor vulnerable areas continuously, and immediately inform district authorities in the event of any flood-related situation.

Revenue Collection and Stamp Registration

The meeting also reviewed revenue collection and stamp registration performance. The Commissioner expressed concern over the poor performance of Badaun in stamp registration and directed officials to take corrective measures. He further instructed that all recovery-related data be promptly uploaded to the relevant government portals.

Among those present were Devendra Pratap, Avinash Singh, Dharmendra Pratap Singh, Avneesh Rai, Gyanendra Singh, Devyani, Utkarsh Dwivedi, Gayatri Singla, and Satish Pratap Mishra, along with other senior officials.
