Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal Takes Tough Stand in CM Dashboard Review Meeting

Strict instructions issued to improve departmental rankings, accelerate Family ID creation and clear pending applications on time

Gonda: Gonda Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal chaired a high-level divisional review meeting of the CM Dashboard on Wednesday, directing officials to ensure faster implementation of development projects, public welfare schemes and governance priorities across the Devipatan division.

The meeting was attended physically by senior divisional officers, including the District Magistrate of Gonda and the Joint Development Commissioner, while District Magistrates and Chief Development Officers of other districts joined through video conferencing.

During the review, the Commissioner conducted a detailed assessment of ongoing development works, welfare schemes and departmental performances linked to the Uttar Pradesh government’s top-priority programmes. She closely examined pending cases, departmental rankings and public service delivery indicators while issuing strict instructions to officials for immediate corrective action wherever progress was found unsatisfactory.

Durga Shakti Nagpal stated that departmental rankings on the CM Dashboard serve as an important benchmark for evaluating administrative performance at the state level. She warned that poor performance by even a single department negatively impacts the ranking of the entire division and would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

She instructed officials to strengthen regular monitoring mechanisms and ensure timely execution of all government schemes. Stressing accountability, the Commissioner directed departments with weak rankings to immediately adopt corrective measures and improve their performance indicators.

Reviewing the progress of the Family ID generation campaign, the Commissioner expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work. She directed officials to organise special camps at the village level to speed up the registration process and ensure that eligible families are linked with government welfare schemes at the earliest.

The Commissioner also instructed all Chief Development Officers to ensure time-bound verification and disposal of applications related to various welfare schemes. She clearly stated that no application should remain pending beyond the prescribed time limit and directed officers to regularly monitor pending cases to ensure quality disposal.

While reviewing the Janani Suraksha Yojana, the Commissioner directed the Health Department to intensify efforts to ensure maximum coverage of eligible women and promote institutional deliveries. She asked concerned officials to work seriously toward improving the scheme’s ranking on the CM Dashboard.

Progress reports from departments including health, education, revenue, panchayati raj, agriculture, drinking water, road construction and power supply were also reviewed during the meeting. The Commissioner warned that negligence in implementing public welfare schemes would not be accepted and instructed officials to work in coordination to ensure timely benefits reach the public.

Keeping the approaching monsoon season in view, Durga Shakti Nagpal also reviewed ongoing construction projects across the division. She directed executing agencies to complete or substantially finish construction work before the onset of heavy rains to avoid inconvenience to the public and ensure projects remain on schedule. She also stressed maintaining quality standards in all infrastructure works.

Reiterating the government’s focus on accountability and efficiency, the Commissioner said that improving the division’s overall ranking is a collective responsibility of all departments and every officer must work with seriousness and commitment to ensure the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in society within the stipulated timeframe.
