Mumbai: Actor Apoorva Arora’s dedication to the stage is proving that for some performers, the show truly must go on. The actor, who stars in the theatrical show Marry Go Round—a high-energy Bollywood musical comedy—is continuing to perform despite dealing with two painful injuries.
Speaking about the physically demanding journey of bringing a production of this scale to life, Apoorva shared, “I have a hairline fracture, and my nail came off completely, which eventually had to be surgically removed. Building a show of this scale is an incredibly hectic process. There are endless dance rehearsals, scene work, and long hours that go into bringing it alive on stage. I even did one of the run-throughs with a bandage on and heavy painkillers. There were multiple emergency room visits, but once I step on stage, the adrenaline takes over. Marry Go Round is such a special experience that I couldn’t imagine not performing. Theatre comes with a different kind of commitment, and the love you receive from a live audience makes every bit of effort worthwhile.”
Despite the physical challenges and the demanding nature of the production, Apoorva continues to perform, earning admiration for her resilience and commitment to the stage.
