CM Yogi pushes for speedy recruitment of homeguards

Lucknow: The number of Home Guard jawans who stand firmly on every front of law and order in Uttar Pradesh will increase. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to recruit Home Guard jawans on 42 thousand posts. This recruitment will be done in two phases on 21-21 thousand posts.

CM Yogi praised the Home Guards

CM Yogi has praised the dedication and service spirit of the Home Guard volunteers and directed to prepare them as disaster friends. The Chief Minister said, by training disaster friends, they should also be given an opportunity to serve as Home Guard volunteers. For this, after taking legal advice, make rules in collaboration with the State Disaster Management Authority.

The Chief Minister also directed to conduct weekly drill of Home Guard jawans in the review meeting. Said, whether it is a matter of law and order or disaster period. Home Guard jawans always perform their duty. Their service spirit is commendable. Home Guard volunteers of Uttar Pradesh have done excellent work in other states as well.

1,18,348 posts of Home Guard volunteers are approved

It was told in the review meeting that 1,18,348 posts of Home Guard volunteers are approved. Currently there are more than 76 thousand full-time Home Guard volunteers. About 75 thousand of them are deployed on duty. About four thousand Home Guards are retiring every year. Accordingly, more than 42 thousand Home Guards will retire by the year 2033. In this meeting, emphasis was laid on filling the posts which have been vacant for a long time.

CM Yogi gave instructions to take the process forward by taking the target of recruiting 21-21 thousand Home Guard volunteers in 2 phases. Regarding this, Minister of State for Prisons and Home Guard Dharamvir Prajapati said that to prepare Home Guard jawans as disaster friends, a meeting will be held soon with the officials of the State Disaster Management Authority and rules will be prepared in accordance with all the points. The recruitment process will be started after the presentation before the Chief Minister.
