UP Mango Festival 2026: Buyer-Seller Meet Connects Farmers with Global Markets

Lucknow: The second day of the three-day Uttar Pradesh Mango Festival 2026 witnessed a major boost to the state’s horticulture and export ecosystem with the organization of a Mango Buyer-Seller Meet at Jan Bhavan in Lucknow.

The event was attended by Governor Anandiben Patel, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and Uttar Pradesh Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh, along with mango growers, exporters, industry representatives and agricultural experts.

A key highlight of the meet was the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between mango producers and exporters. The initiative aims to establish direct linkages between farmers and national as well as international buyers, enabling growers to access wider markets and secure better returns for their produce.

Addressing the gathering, Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh noted that Uttar Pradesh contributes nearly 26 percent of India’s total mango production, making it the country’s leading mango-producing state. He encouraged entrepreneurs and investors to establish food processing units in Uttar Pradesh, highlighting that the state government is offering subsidies of up to 50 percent to support such ventures.

The minister also underscored the transformative potential of the upcoming Noida International Airport, stating that enhanced air cargo connectivity is expected to simplify mango exports, expand access to international markets and significantly increase farmers’ incomes.

Highlighting the growing importance of horticulture, Singh said that although horticultural crops occupy only about 9 percent of the state’s agricultural land, they contribute approximately 42 percent of total agricultural production and account for nearly 52 percent of the sector’s value.

The event also featured a technical session where experts guided farmers on scientific mango harvesting, post-harvest management, value addition, food processing, export standards, branding strategies, natural farming practices and emerging opportunities in agribusiness and startups.

The Buyer-Seller Meet reflected the state’s broader efforts to strengthen agricultural exports, promote value-added products and create sustainable income opportunities for farmers, while positioning Uttar Pradesh as a leading hub for horticultural excellence and global agri-trade.
