Lucknow – The CID team clinched the title by defeating Supernova by 7 wickets in the final match of the first Shrimati Pratima Singh Memorial Cricket Tournament held at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School Cricket Stadium. CID won the toss and chose to bowl first. Batting first, Supernova posted a total of 125 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In response, CID successfully chased the target in 18 overs, losing only 3 wickets. Ram Yadav played a brilliant innings, scoring 50 runs, while Ratnesh Singh also contributed with a crucial 33-run knock. In the bowling department, Rajnikant Chakraborty delivered an exceptional performance, taking 3 wickets for just 10 runs in his 4-over spell.
For Supernova, Ayush Agarwal (Golu) scored 25 runs, while Jasmeet Singh bowled well, taking 1 wicket for 20 runs in his 4 overs.
The most remarkable aspect of this tournament was that all players wore jerseys featuring their mothers’ names on the back, making the event even more emotional and inspiring. A large number of family members attended the match to cheer for their sons.
The chief guest of the event was senior journalist Narendra Bhadauria, along with Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s General Secretary, Harshvardhan Singh. Senior IAS officer Anil Kumar graced the event as the distinguished guest. Several senior cricket players from Lucknow, including Sunil Dutt Tripathi . Adil Pasha and S.P. Singh, were also present at the occasion.
The tournament was organized with the support of Avisha Sporting, Wellness Lucknow, and D.W.S. The chief guest, in his address, stated, “Such events are always memorable and help in encouraging sports talent.”
Owing to the grand success of this event, the organizing committee has announced the second edition of the tournament. “Shrimati Pratima Singh Memorial Cricket Tournament – Season 2” will feature 24 teams and is scheduled to commence on November 1, 2025.
