The festival promises an immersive experience of authentic flavours, traditional recipes, and the warm hospitality that defines Bihar’s cultural identity.

The festival is designed not just as a gastronomic showcase but as a celebration of Bihar’s heritage, bringing together its rustic cuisine, folk traditions, and homely culinary charm under one roof.

Authentic Bihari Cuisine on Offer

Guests will be treated to a wide range of traditional beverages such as sattu sharbat, bel sharbat, and desi mattha. The snack section features regional favourites including chana dal tikki, lal saag pakoda, ghugni chaat, tarua, and dal pitha.

The main vegetarian spread will be led by the iconic litti chokha, prepared in authentic style to recreate the smoky flavours of traditional clay ovens. Other dishes such as sem ki sabzi, kathal kofta, sarson bhindi, and kadhi badi will further highlight Bihar’s diverse home-style cooking.

Main course offerings include bhuna bhaat, ghee tempering pulao, traditional tehri, makhana dal, sattu paratha, and matar hing puri, all designed to evoke the essence of rural kitchens.

For non-vegetarian food lovers, Champaran mutton cooked in traditional earthen pots will be the star attraction. Other delicacies include Bhojpuri mutton curry, desi chicken preparations, and garlicky chulha quail, prepared with aromatic spices and pure mustard oil. Seafood options such as mustard fish curry and fried fish will also be available.

Traditional Sweets and Chutneys

The dessert counter will feature Bihar’s signature sweets including thekua, raspua, malpua with rabri, and makhana kheer. Accompaniments such as coriander-mint chutney, garlic chutney, parwal chokha, and meetha paan will further enhance the dining experience.

Curated by Expert Chef Rachna Prasad

The festival is being curated under the leadership of Chef Rachna Prasad, a celebrated culinary expert known for promoting traditional Bihari cuisine at national and international platforms.
