Bareilly: In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for sustainable living and the directions of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Bareilly District Magistrate Avinash Singh undertook a journey to Mirganj tehsil in an electric bus along with district-level officials to promote environmental conservation and green energy adoption.
The initiative was taken while travelling to participate in Tehsil Day proceedings and was aimed at spreading awareness about energy conservation, reduction in fuel consumption and the importance of sustainable development.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Magistrate said environmental protection and responsible use of energy resources have become extremely important in the present time. He emphasized that the use of electric vehicles not only helps reduce pollution but also decreases dependence on conventional fuels such as petrol and diesel.
He further said that greater adoption of clean and green energy would help create a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations.
The initiative drew appreciation from local residents and officials, who described it as an inspiring step towards environmental awareness and fuel conservation.
Several senior district officials accompanied the District Magistrate during the journey in the electric bus. Those present included officials from the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Panchayati Raj Department, Food and Civil Supplies Department, Women and Child Development Department, Animal Husbandry Department, Education Department, Horticulture Department, Social Welfare Department, Agriculture Department and Public Works Department, among others.
The administration said such initiatives are intended to encourage public participation in environmentally responsible practices and promote wider acceptance of eco-friendly transport systems in the district.
