Lucknow: The Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh has made a major change in the income limit of those applying under the marriage grant scheme of Backward Classes Welfare. After this, the annual income limit of applicants in urban and rural areas has increased to Rs 1 lakh. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes Welfare and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Narendra Kashyap said that with this change, more families of backward classes will be able to get government help to marry their daughters.
Instructions to issue notice to those who are negligent
Earlier the income limit of applicants in urban areas was Rs 56,460 and in rural areas it was Rs 46,080 per annum. Now it has been made uniformly one lakh rupees. Instructions were also given to issue notice to those who are negligent in providing the benefits of the schemes to the eligible beneficiaries.
He reviewed the district-wise status of applications and payments received under the Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Scheme for the financial year 2024-25 of the Backward Classes Welfare Department. He inquired about the status of vacancies and appointments for admission of Divyang and general students and running of the faculty in the faculties of Jagatguru Rambhadracharya Rajya Divyang Vishwavidyalaya, Chitrakoot. Said that the number of students should be increased.
Instructions to fill 154 vacant posts of the department
Narendra Kashyap gave instructions in the departmental review that necessary action should be taken immediately to fill 154 vacant posts of the department. The vacancies which are to be filled through other departments, the deployment should be ensured by correspondence there. He said that no negligence or laxity should be shown in this process.
