Art Education Fosters Sensitivity, Culture, and Aesthetic Growth: Workshop Concludes at Lucknow Public School

Lucknow: A five-day art workshop held at Lucknow Public School concluded on an inspiring and artistic note with a vibrant exhibition of students’ work. Organized under the “Aesthetic and Cultural Development Programme 2026–27” in collaboration with Fluorescence Art Gallery, the workshop aimed at nurturing creativity, sensitivity, and aesthetic awareness among students.

The final day featured an exhibition based on the theme “Lotus,” where students showcased their artworks reflecting harmony, purity, and inner expression. Much like the lotus blooming on water, the paintings displayed a delicate balance of colors and emotions, offering a glimpse into the students’ creative depth and imagination.

Art Department Head Rajesh Kumar informed that the chief guest, noted city artist Uttam Verma, conducted a live demonstration, introducing students to the finer nuances of painting. His brushwork, use of transparency, and layered wash techniques illustrated how art can be a deeply immersive and expressive practice. He encouraged students to view art not merely as a visual exercise, but as an emotional and experiential journey.

Interacting with students, Uttam Verma motivated them to pursue consistent practice, keen observation, and self-confidence in their artistic endeavors, instilling renewed enthusiasm and creative confidence.

School Principal Rashmi Chadha appreciated the initiative, stating that such workshops help nurture the creative potential of students while fostering a sensitive outlook toward life.

Director of Fluorescence Art Gallery, Neha Singh, expressed satisfaction over the workshop’s success, emphasizing the importance of bridging traditional and contemporary art forms to help students discover and refine their unique artistic voices.

The workshop was conducted under the guidance of art teacher Sandeep Kumar, who ensured systematic learning of wash painting techniques, including layering, tonal variation, and brush control. Students not only learned technical skills but also integrated them into their personal creative expressions.

Curator Bhupendra Kumar Asthana highlighted that the exhibition represented more than just artwork—it celebrated the students’ evolving imagination, sensitivity, and confidence.

The successful conclusion of the workshop reaffirmed that art education plays a vital role in shaping cultural awareness, aesthetic sensibility, and emotional depth among students.
