Lucknow: The Jain community and Indira Nagar Jain Temple celebrated Kshamavani Parv and World Non-Violence Day with religious fervour and enthusiasm on Friday, with devotees participating in special prayers, cultural performances and a grand procession of Lord Mahavir.
The celebrations were held under the leadership of temple president P.K. Jain and general secretary Abhishek Jain. Devotees gathered at the temple early in the morning to perform the abhishek and worship of Lord Mahavir, praying for global peace and harmony.
In the afternoon, a grand procession of Lord Shri Ji was taken out in the presence of Acharya Shri 108 Subal Sagar Ji Maharaj and Upadhyay 108 Shri Vihasant Sagar Ji Maharaj. Starting from the Indira Nagar Jain Temple, the procession passed through various localities before concluding at Ahimsa Upvan Park in Bhootnath.
The procession featured Jain flags, a DJ band and devotional songs, with men and women enthusiastically singing and dancing. The beautifully decorated chariot carrying the deity brought up the rear, as devotees welcomed it at various points by performing aarti. Anmol Jain of Fatehpur, along with Sanat Kumar Indra and Mahendra Indra, were aboard the chariot.
Acharya Shri emphasised the promotion of vegetarianism and encouraged people to embrace compassion and non-violence in their daily lives.
The cultural programme featured Khushi Jain performing a dance to the Namokar Mantra, while Nekal Jain captivated the audience with a performance on the devotional song “Mere Bhagwan Aaye Hain”. The worship rituals were conducted by Sanjeev Jain.
Abhishek Jain announced that a Mahamandal Vidhan would be organised under the guidance of Acharya Shri on October 3.
Mahavir Gangwar, Bunty Jain, Shalu Didi, Preeti Jain, Shraddha Jain, Nem Kumar, Ashok Kumar Jain, Dheeraj Kumar and Anurodh Kumar Jain were among those present at the celebrations.
