Lucknow: Under the Drug-Free India Campaign, the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), Lucknow, organized an anti-narcotics awareness program at A.P. Sen Girls’ Inter College, Charbagh, Lucknow last week. The program aimed to make students aware of the physical, mental, social, and economic harms caused by drug abuse. Vasundhara and Sathi Human Welfare Society played an important role in making the event successful.
The chief guest, Rohit Raj, Acting Superintendent of CBN Lucknow, administered an oath to the students to stay away from all kinds of narcotics. He emphasized that addiction not only harms an individual’s health but also has serious consequences for families and society. He urged the students to avoid drugs and also spread awareness among people around them about its harmful effects.

Special guest Dr. Rajiv Saxena, retired Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and founder of Vasundhara Seva Samiti, said that throughout history, attempts have been made to weaken society and nations by pushing youth towards addiction. He explained to the students the damaging effects of drugs on the body and brain.
The college principal, Mrs. Ushoshi Ghosh, also addressed the gathering, while Dr. Rajiv Saxena and Mr Rohit Raj answered students’ questions. Also present were Ritik Jadaun, Kumar Ayush, Archika Shukla from CBN Lucknow, journalist and social worker Sandeep Pal, and teachers of the college.
