Bareilly: Students of the Faculty of Agriculture at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, celebrated Teachers’ Day with a colourful programme featuring cultural performances and activities dedicated to their teachers.
The celebrations began with the offering of flowers and the lighting of a ceremonial lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati. Addressing the gathering, Faculty of Agriculture Dean Professor Upendra Kumar highlighted the significance of Teachers’ Day and spoke about the close and meaningful bond between teachers and students.
He said teachers not only impart academic knowledge but also serve as mentors, guides and sources of inspiration throughout their students’ lives. Students from the first and second years of the Faculty of Agriculture presented a series of cultural performances during the programme. Musical and dance performances were particularly appreciated by the audience and created a festive atmosphere across the faculty.
The students had also decorated the faculty premises attractively for the occasion. As a special gesture of appreciation, they presented handmade greeting cards to all faculty members, expressing their gratitude and respect for their teachers. University Vice-Chancellor Professor Anil Kumar Rai extended his Teachers’ Day greetings to the students and faculty members. In his address, he said teachers play a crucial role in shaping the future of young people.
After parents and family, teachers are among the most important well-wishers and guides in a student’s life, he said. The Vice-Chancellor urged students to maintain respect for their teachers and make continuous progress in life by following their guidance and learning from their experience. Faculty members including Dr Gufran Khan, Dr Vinay Verma, Anil Sahani, Dr Sahdev, Dr Anuj, Dr Abhishek and Dr Damini Singh, along with other teachers and students, attended the celebration.
The programme was conducted by Ishita Pandey and Nitin Gangwar, while Akhilesh, Lakshit Joshi, Niharika Yadav and Rishabh Beniwal played a special role in coordinating the event. The celebrations concluded in a warm and cordial atmosphere, with students expressing their gratitude towards their teachers and reaffirming the importance of the teacher-student relationship.
