Lucknow: The Cyber Help Desk of the PGI police station has helped recover ₹1.40 lakh for a complainant after he reported losing the money as an advance payment for the purchase of a garbage e-rickshaw.
According to police, a cyber complaint was received on August 23, 2026, from Veer Pratap Singh, a resident of Triveni Puram under the PGI police station area in Lucknow.

The complainant told the Cyber Help Desk that he had paid ₹1.40 lakh as an advance to staff associated with Task Blessing Company for purchasing a garbage e-rickshaw. However, after the payment was made, he reportedly did not receive a satisfactory response from the company’s staff, prompting him to approach the cyber helpline.
Acting promptly on the complaint, Sub-Inspector Ravi Kumar Yadav, in-charge of the PGI Cyber Help Desk, and his team contacted the company’s manager and pursued the matter.
Following the intervention, the entire ₹1,40,000 amount was returned to the complainant, police said.

After receiving the money, the complainant expressed his gratitude to the PGI police and Cyber Help Desk team. He also submitted a written request stating that he did not wish to pursue further police action and requested that the cyber complaint be closed.

The Cyber Help Desk team involved in the recovery comprised Sub-Inspector Ravi Kumar Yadav, Constable Samar Singh, Constable Vinay Kumar Maurya and Neha Kumari Mishra.
The prompt intervention by the PGI police Cyber Help Desk helped the complainant recover the entire amount he had paid, highlighting the importance of immediately reporting suspected cyber-related financial disputes to the authorities.
