Bareilly: As part of the pre-convocation celebrations for its 24th Convocation, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, organised a painting competition for school students, providing a platform for young artists to express their creativity while promoting the message of nature and environmental conservation.
The competition was organised by the University’s Cultural Centre under the patronage of Chancellor Anandiben Patel and the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh. It forms part of a series of competitions being held from July 1 to July 15, 2026, in primary, upper primary, and intermediate schools located in villages adopted by the university.
The theme of the competition, “Nature and Environmental Conservation,” encouraged students to depict the beauty of nature and highlight the importance of protecting the environment through art. Participants created vibrant and thought-provoking paintings, reflecting their imagination, artistic skills, and concern for ecological preservation.
Appreciating the students’ efforts, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh said that painting is not merely an arrangement of colours but a powerful medium for expressing ideas, emotions, and social awareness. He noted that such competitions play an important role in nurturing creativity, imagination, and aesthetic sensibilities among students. He encouraged young participants to use their artistic talents to spread positive messages for society and the nation.
Cultural Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Pandey said the children beautifully portrayed different aspects of nature and expressed their creativity by adding meaningful colours and artistic interpretations to their works. She informed that the competition was organised at Primary School Lalpur, Upper Primary School Etoba Beniram, and Disha Inter College, Dohra, while similar events in other adopted schools will be conducted later this week as part of the ongoing pre-convocation programme.
