“Yoga Brings Excellence in Action”: Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh Performs Yoga in Aligarh

Aligarh / Lucknow: Embracing the timeless Sanskrit principle “Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam” (Yoga is excellence in action), Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Minister (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh participated in a grand mass yoga session held at Ahilyabai Holkar Stadium in Aligarh on the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day.

The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout of students, teachers, officials, and citizens who gathered in large numbers to practice yoga collectively and pledge support for a healthier nation.

Yoga as a Global Force for Good

Addressing the gathering, Minister Sandeep Singh said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, yoga has evolved from India’s cultural heritage into a powerful instrument for global well-being. He noted that since the first International Yoga Day in 2015, the movement has grown into a worldwide phenomenon.

He further emphasized that yoga is deeply rooted in India’s civilizational values and now serves as a bridge for global harmony and human welfare.

Uttar Pradesh’s Commitment to a Healthy Society

Highlighting the efforts of the state government, the minister stated that under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is continuously working towards building a healthy, capable, and empowered society through yoga awareness and education.

He added that the Basic Education Department has made daily yoga practice and morning assemblies mandatory in all council schools across the state, ensuring that children develop discipline, physical fitness, and mental strength from an early age.

Yoga for Discipline and Nation Building

Calling yoga a foundation of concentration, patience, and positivity, Sandeep Singh urged citizens to incorporate yoga into their daily routine. He said yoga not only helps in disease prevention but also enhances efficiency in action, reflecting the essence of “Karmasu Kaushalam.”

He appealed to the public to actively participate in building a “Healthy, Capable, and Developed India” by adopting yoga as a way of life.

The programme concluded with enthusiastic participation in yoga practices, reaffirming the growing public commitment toward wellness, discipline, and holistic development.
