Uttar Pradesh Will Emerge as the No. 1 State in Education, Says Deputy Chief Minister at Amar Ujala’s Meritorious Students Felicitation Ceremony
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Monday said that meritorious and talented students are the true architects of a developed India and will play a decisive role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming the country into a developed nation by 2047.
Addressing the Amar Ujala Medhavi Chhatra Samman Samaroh-2026 at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Gomti Nagar as the chief guest, Maurya honored outstanding students from across the state and encouraged them to set ambitious goals and work relentlessly toward achieving them.
“Nothing is impossible in life if one has a clear vision, determination, discipline, and the willingness to work hard,” Maurya said, emphasizing that success can be achieved through sustained effort and commitment.
Uttar Pradesh Moving Towards Educational Excellence
The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the transformation in Uttar Pradesh’s education system over the past few years. Referring to the state’s efforts to ensure transparency in examinations, he said that a positive environment for teaching and learning has emerged across the state.
“There was a time when reports of mass copying in board examinations dominated discussions. Today, transparent and cheating-free examinations have given Uttar Pradesh students a new identity and recognition across the country,” he said.
Expressing confidence in the state’s progress, Maurya stated that just as Uttar Pradesh is advancing in various sectors, it will soon become the leading state in the country in the field of education as well.
Parents, Teachers and Students Form the ‘Triveni’ of Success
Maurya stressed that the success of students is the result of the combined efforts of parents, teachers, and learners themselves. He described this partnership as the “Triveni” of success, saying that when students work hard, teachers provide dedicated guidance, and parents offer support and encouragement, remarkable achievements become possible.
Recalling a government initiative launched in 2017, he noted that roads leading to the homes of state toppers are being developed under the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Gaurav Path Yojana, reflecting the government’s commitment to honoring academic excellence.
Motivating students, he quoted:
“Success belongs to those whose dreams are alive; wings alone do not help one fly, it is courage and determination that give true flight.”
Students Key to Developed India Vision
Maurya said that a developed India would not only mean economic prosperity but also leadership in education, employment, innovation, security, good governance, and social equality. He urged students to become active participants in this national mission and contribute to nation-building through knowledge, innovation, and hard work.

He also appealed to students, parents, and teachers to participate in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s environmental campaign, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (One Tree in Mother’s Name), emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation.
“The talent of Indian youth is unmatched globally. Wherever they receive opportunities, they excel through their hard work, innovation, and dedication, bringing pride to the nation,” he added.
Ministers Congratulate Students
Minister of State for Secondary Education Gulab Devi congratulated the students and highlighted the importance of discipline, time management, and consistent hard work. She urged parents to maintain a friendly and supportive relationship with their children, creating an environment conducive to holistic development.
She also noted that the positive impact of the Prime Minister’s Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign is increasingly visible, with girls achieving remarkable success across various fields.
Minister of State for Basic Education Sandeep Singh said that education is central to the vision of a developed India. He emphasized that the state government remains committed to providing quality education and improved facilities to students. He added that educational reforms introduced by the government have contributed to a reduction in dropout rates and increased school enrollment.
Meritorious Students Honoured with E-Scooters and Smartphones
During the ceremony, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Minister Gulab Devi, and Minister Sandeep Singh presented e-scooter keys and certificates of appreciation to top-performing students of the Uttar Pradesh Board examinations.
Among the recipients of e-scooters were top-ranking students in the High School and Intermediate examinations, including Kashish Verma and Anshika Verma (First Rank, High School), Aditi (Second Rank), Arpita, Rishabh Sahu and Pari Verma (Third Rank), Shikha Verma (First Rank, Intermediate), Nandini Gupta and Shriya Verma (Second Rank), and Surabhi Yadav and Pooja Pal (Third Rank).
Amar Ujala also distributed smartphones to top achievers of the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Sanskrit Shiksha Parishad examinations. The awardees included Srishti, Khushboo Saroj, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Priyanka Saroj, Rajneesh Yadav, Vanshika Srivastava, Kajal, and Sanskriti, who secured top positions in the High School and Intermediate categories.
The event witnessed the participation of a large number of students, parents, teachers, and distinguished citizens, making it a celebration of academic excellence and youthful aspiration.
