Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya Reviews Development Works with District Officials in Bareilly

Bareilly: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya chaired a comprehensive review meeting with administrative and departmental officials at the Collectorate auditorium, stressing efficient governance, transparency, and timely grievance redressal.

Addressing the officials, Maurya directed that every complaint brought by citizens must be resolved promptly, and if not, clear reasons should be communicated. He emphasized that as it is an important electoral year, special focus must be placed on ensuring the effective delivery of government schemes to the grassroots level.

The Deputy CM reviewed pending sugarcane dues of farmers in Nawabganj and Baheri tehsils. District Magistrate Avinash Singh informed that the Nawabganj sugar mill has been auctioned, while the Baheri mill auction is scheduled for April 29. Maurya instructed officials to ensure timely payment to farmers.

He also directed the formation of a WhatsApp group involving public representatives and officials to ensure swift resolution of grievances. Strict instructions were issued to prevent middlemen in wheat procurement and to curb any illegal collection at procurement centres.

Raising concerns over illegal mining and unauthorized construction, Maurya directed strict action against offenders while ensuring that farmers are not harassed. He also emphasized that agencies executing highway projects must repair any damaged local roads within stipulated timelines.

The Deputy CM called for improving public service delivery at tehsil, police station, and block levels by making them model centres with proper seating and respectful behaviour towards visitors. He stressed that initiatives like Tehsil Diwas and Gram Chaupal should function as effective platforms for grievance redressal.

Maurya further instructed action against alleged corruption in driving training schools and irregularities in private school curriculum implementation. He also highlighted complaints related to power outages and smart meters, directing officials to resolve them promptly.

On infrastructure and welfare, he reviewed progress under the Jal Jeevan Mission and directed physical verification of completed works. He also called for removal of encroachments on public land and strengthening measures for stray cattle management, including installation of CCTV cameras in Gaushalas.

Several public representatives, including Forest and Environment Minister Dr. Arun Kumar, Mayor Dr. Umesh Gautam, MP Chhatrapal Gangwar, and senior administrative and police officials, were present at the meeting.
