Bareilly: The Shri Ram Murti Memorial Inter-School Cricket Tournament and Shri Ram Murti Memorial Inter-School Football Tournament concluded on a high note, witnessing thrilling performances and a repeat of last year’s results.
In the cricket final, Vidya World School continued its dominance by defeating SR International School by 8 wickets to lift the championship trophy for the sixth time. The team has maintained an impressive winning streak, having secured the title consistently from the third to the seventh edition, after finishing as runner-up in the second season.
Meanwhile, in the football final, Army Public School Senior Wing delivered a commanding performance, defeating Delhi Public School Bareilly 4-0 to claim the championship trophy.
The closing ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Independent School Association President Nirbhay Beniwal and SRMS Trust Founder and Chairman Dev Murti. Other dignitaries from sports bodies such as Bareilly Cricket Association and Bareilly Football Association were also present. Winners and runners-up teams were felicitated with trophies and individual awards.
Addressing the gathering, Dev Murti congratulated both winners and runners-up, encouraging students to learn from their experiences and strive for excellence. He expressed confidence that participants would go on to represent Bareilly at national and international levels.
Earlier, SRMS Trust Secretary Aditya Murti welcomed the guests and appreciated the support of organizing bodies in successfully conducting the tournament. The event also saw the presence of school principals, coaches, and organizing committee members, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
The tournament once again highlighted the growing enthusiasm for sports among school students in Bareilly and reinforced the importance of competitive platforms in nurturing young talent.
