Bareilly: A soulful musical evening was organized at SRMS Riddhima, where renowned singer Asha Bhosle was fondly remembered through an instrumental programme titled Rhythm and Beats. The event brought together musicians, students, and art enthusiasts in a vibrant tribute celebrating the legendary artist’s timeless legacy.
The programme commenced with captivating performances by the institute’s instrumental faculty, including Suryakant Chaudhary (violin), Surender (percussion), Anugrah Singh (drums), Vishesh Singh (guitar), Rishabh Ashish Pathak (pakhawaj), Seema (sitar), Deepkant Johri (tabla), Derrick Aman James (keyboard), Amar Nath (tabla), and Ronnie Phillips (saxophone). Their collective presentation set a melodic tone for the evening.
Guest performer Dr. Surendra Rawat from Maharshi Dayanand University delivered a special performance, offering a heartfelt tribute to Asha Bhosle through his musical expression.
A highlight of the event was a fusion performance on Raag Ahir Bhairav, featuring the composition “Albela Sajan Aayo Re.” Instrumental and vocal mentors, including Priyanka Gwal and Satvik Mishra, performed alongside students such as Dr. Namrata Singh, Vivaan Agrawal, Ashish Agrawal, Gurman Singh, Swasti Agrawal, Prabhav Agrawal, Mantika Arora, Manan Agrawal, Ayansh Agrawal, and vocalists Atishay Goyal and Shreya Prabhjot.

The tribute continued with instrumental renditions of iconic songs associated with Asha Bhosle, including “In Aankhon Ki Masti Se,” “Yeh Raatein Yeh Mausam,” and “Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko,” evoking nostalgia among the audience. Adding a creative dimension, a live painting performance accompanied the music, enhancing the overall artistic experience.
The programme was hosted by Aruna Gangwar. Distinguished guests present on the occasion included Dev Murti, Chairman of the SRMS Trust, along with Asha Murti, Aditya Murti, Richa Murti, Usha Gupta, Dr. Rajni Agrawal, Subhash Mehra, Dr. Prabhakar Gupta, Dr. Anuj Kumar, Dr. Shailesh Saxena, Dr. Ashish Kumar, Dr. Rita Sharma, and several eminent citizens of the city.
