Lucknow: A state-level Women’s Youth Parliament on the theme “Nari Shakti: Voice of a Developed India” was organized at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan by Mera Yuva Bharat, Uttar Pradesh, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The inaugural session was formally opened by Dr. Babita Singh Chauhan, who lit the ceremonial lamp. The programme commenced with a rendition of Vande Mataram, followed by a welcome address from Regional Director Anil Kumar Singh, who outlined the objectives and framework of the event.
In her address, Dr. Chauhan emphasized that the youth form the foundation of a strong nation. Referring to initiatives such as Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, she highlighted the growing empowerment of women under the leadership of Narendra Modi. She called upon young participants to embrace gender equality and move forward with determination.
The second session featured Baby Rani Maurya, Minister for Women Welfare, Child Development and Nutrition, as the Chief Guest, along with Rajeshwar Singh as the Guest of Honour. Addressing the gathering, Baby Rani Maurya stated that the vision of a developed India cannot be realized without the active participation of women. She encouraged young women to pursue education, become self-reliant, and take on leadership roles in society.
She also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of rural women, noting their tireless efforts in managing households and supporting communities despite limited recognition. She praised their dedication, honesty, and efficient use of time.

During subsequent sessions, participants actively engaged in discussions under the Women’s Youth Parliament framework, presenting their views on empowerment, equality, and justice.
At the concluding session, Rajeshwar Singh distributed mementos to participants. The programme was efficiently anchored by Kirti Shukla, who ensured smooth proceedings while highlighting key themes of women’s empowerment and equal participation.
The event witnessed the presence of officials including Deputy Director Vikas Singh, along with Jagriti Pandey, Akarsh Dixit, Mahe Alam, Anupam Kumar, Sonika Chandra, and district youth officers from across the state. More than 1,200 young participants from various districts of Uttar Pradesh took part in the programme.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by State Director Gopesh Pandey, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and participants.
