Gonda: A significant meeting of the Uttar Pradeshiya Purv Madhyamik Shikshak Sangh was held at Composite School Maharajganj in Gonda, focusing on mobilizing teachers for a large-scale protest against the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) policy.
The key agenda of the meeting was to ensure maximum participation from the district in the proposed nationwide demonstration scheduled on April 4, 2026, at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. The protest will be organized under the banner of the Teachers Federation of India, opposing what union leaders described as the “unjust imposition” of TET norms.
The meeting was presided over by National Vice President Veer Vikram Singh. Addressing the gathering, District President Ashok Kumar Pandey termed the TET policy a “black law” and asserted that the organization would intensify its protest from district to national level.
State Accountant Rajesh Kumar Shukla emphasized that all achievements of the teaching community have come through sustained struggles, adding that members are prepared for agitation at every level. District General Secretary Ajit Kumar Tiwari argued that the TET policy should not be implemented for teachers appointed before 2011 and demanded that the government withdraw it through an ordinance.

Several other office-bearers, including State Treasurer Suresh Kumar Singh and State Joint Minister Sushil Kumar, also addressed the meeting, echoing strong opposition to the policy and urging unity among teachers.
A large number of district and block-level representatives attended the meeting, reaffirming their commitment to participate in the upcoming protest. The gathering concluded with a call for solidarity and collective action, signaling an intensified आंदोलन in the coming days against the TET regulations.
